Module 1: Intermediate Structural Building
Transition from basic forms to architectural strength.
- Advanced integration of pinch, coil & slab
- Building taller, wider & structurally sound forms
- Understanding stress points & internal reinforcement
- Planning proportion, silhouette & balance
- Composite forms, sectional building & drying strategy
- Foundation of clay engineering + concept sketching
- Ceramic Chessboard + 4–6 chess pieces (Introduction to repeated form, precision, and flat slab construction)
Module 2: Sculpture & Human Form Studies
For expressive, story-driven sculpting.
- Basic human figure studies: posture, gesture & body flow
- Human form breakdown: head, torso, hands, feet
- Simplified anatomy for ceramic sculptors
- Gesture-building: movement, weight & rhythm
- Armature building for larger sculptures

Module 3: Low-Relief (Basic)
A new focused segment for Level 2, simple yet foundational.
- Introduction to low-relief

- Preparing slabs for relief work
- Basic shading using carving & texturing tools
Module 4: Advanced Surface Language & Design
Creating intentional, design-led surface work.

- Deep carving, reverse carving & shadow layering
- Fluting, faceting & precision texturing
- Multi-layered sgraffito
- Stamping, impressions & print textures
- Underglaze illustration, brush control & line quality
Module 5: Advanced Glazing & Finishing Techniques
Mastering glaze control, layering & special effects.
- Single, double & triple glaze layering
- Controlled overlaps for gradients
- Pouring, dipping & resist techniques

Module 6: Design Thinking & Critique Sessions

Students will learn how to collect, recycle and reclaim clay, manage slurry, understand moisture levels, and maintain a sustainable pottery workflow.

Each level includes structured homework assignments designed to strengthen your learning and build muscle memory.
Students must complete these tasks, and every assignment will be documented and submitted to the instructor for final approval, creating a personal learning archive that tracks your progress, growth, and technical mastery.
Sell Your Work on Janbo Living (Commission-Based)
Level 2 students can opt to showcase and sell selected pieces on The Janbo Living e-commerce website, on a commission model. Your first step toward becoming an independent ceramic artist.

Course Duration & Fees
- Total Hours: 48 hours (16 instructor-led sessions, 2 free flow sessions, 3 hours each)
- Clay: Stoneware & Earthenware
- Course Fees: ₹28,500 (Includes clay, tools, glazes, two firings, tax & full studio support)
