What You’ll Learn
Module 1: Advanced Clay Control
- Throwing with multiple clay bodies
- Working confidently with 750 g – 1 kg clay
- Sectional throwing for taller, balanced forms
- Increasing wall height while maintaining even thickness
- Improving speed, rhythm & wheel control
Module 2: Functional Ware & Set Design
- Lidded jars & lid mechanisms (gallery + flange)
- Plates: centering wide clay, flattening, rim control
- Minimalist tableware sets: teacups, bowls & plates (uniformity training)
- Double-walled forms (insulated forms + hollow structure)
- Goblets & stemmed forms (base joining, proportion, balance)
Module 3: Form Exploration
- Vase variations & advanced forms: Tall-neck, Round belly, Shoulder & collar shapes, Trumpet body & Soft altered curves
- Understanding form language & balance
- Exploring proportion, volume & silhouette
- Working with negative space & visual harmony
Module 4: Surface & Glaze Techniques
Advanced Decorative Techniques: Carving, Fluting, Sgraffito, Stamping & Impressions
Advanced Glazing: Dipping, Pouring, Layering glazes, Controlled overlaps for gradient effects, Glaze thickness control & testing tiles, Sanding & Wax
Clay Recycling & Sustainable Practice
Students will learn how to collect, recycle and reclaim clay, manage slurry, understand moisture levels, and maintain a sustainable pottery workflow.

Students can choose a selected piece from their final collection to be showcased and sold on The Janbo Living e-commerce website on a commission model, supporting your first steps as an emerging ceramic artist.

Course Duration & Fees
- Total Hours: 54 hours (16 instructor-led sessions, 2 free flow sessions, 3 hours each)
- Clay: Stoneware & Earthenware
- Course Fees: ₹30,000 (Includes clay, tools, glazes, two firings, tax & full studio support)
